Snyder's-Lance to build R&D center in US
US-based snack food company Snyder's-Lance plans to build a research and development center Hanover, Pennsylvania, in the US.
The center will research, develop and enhance new and existing products across the company's entire line of consumer preferred snack foods, which includes brands such as Snyder's of Hanover Pretzels, Hanover Pretzels, Lance Sandwich Crackers, and Cape Cod Potato Chips.
It will also offer primary services such as detailed product and quality comparisons, and sensory evaluation.
The 60,000ft², three story building will meet the strict requirements of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design rating system for the construction and operation of high performance green buildings. It will receive 100% of its electricity from the company's twenty six acre solar panel farm.
The project is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2012.
