Green Park Brands introduces organic chickpea puffs in US

Green Park Brands has launched a new range of organic chickpea puffs, branded as HIPPEAS, in the US market.

According the food Innovation company, HIPPEAS are light and crunchy while packing in 4 grams of protein and 3 grams of fiber in a single-serve.

Green Park Brands CEO Livio Bisterzo said: "HIPPEAS has everything it takes to become the next globally loved snack brand.

"We truly believe that HIPPEAS embodies every major snacking global trend, while delivering a very powerful, emotional storyline to our millennial audience."

The chickpea puffs are available in six different flavors in 1-ounce bags. Two of these flavors – Far Out Fajita and Vegan White Ceddar will be available in participating Starbucks stores across the country.

Green Park plans to introduce them out to other retailers in the future including Amazon and Whole Foods.

The company says that its chickpea puffs are low-calorie and are certified organic, gluten-free, vegan, koscher and also non-GMO.

Other four flavors in the HIPPEAS product range are Pepper Power, Happenin' Hickory, Maple Haze and Sriracha Sunshine.

Far Out Fajita flavor is a combination of chili, paprika along with cumin puffs. Pepper Power flavor is a mix of pepper with a sprinkle of sea salt.

Happenin' Hickory flavor is made from sweet tomato, onion and garlic along with a stack of smokin’ hickory.

While Maple Haze flavor is made from syrupy sweet puffs, Vegan White Ceddar contains cheese puffs.

The sixth flavor in the HIPPEAS range is Sriracha Sunshine, made from tangy-sweet and yet spicy jalapeno and paprika puffs.
