Enjoy Life Foods receives Non-GMO Project Verification

FBR Staff Writer Published 03 September 2012

Enjoy Life Foods, a producer of allergy-friendly snacks, has announced that it has received the official Non-GMO Project Verification on 24 of its top food products, with additional products still under review.

The food products which have received Non-GMO Project Verification include cookies, chocolate, granola, seed and fruit mixes, chewy bars, chips, and cereal products.

Enjoy Life chief sales & marketing officer Joel Warady said the company has been with the Non-GMO Project to ensure the sustained availability of non-GMO food products.

GMOs (genetically modified organisms) are plants or animals created through the gene splicing techniques of biotechnology. According to the company, it is estimated that GMOs are currently present in more than 80% of packaged products in the average US or Canadian supermarket.

The Non-GMO Project is a non-profit organization, which seeks to preserve and build sources of non-GMO products, educating consumers, and providing verified non-GMO choices.

Enjoy Life Foods cookies, granola, cereal, snack bars, seed and fruit mixes, chocolate bars, baking chocolate, and healthy lentil-based chips, all of which are sold in natural food, conventional grocery stores, and mass retailers throughout the US and Canada, as well as specialty online retailers.
